ABOUT OUR JUNIOR PROJECT ASSISTANT
Charla Lewis is our new junior project assistant. Charla is pursuing an education in Indigenous community development and is excited to be developing and learning with Bridge Barn Consulting. She is a Squamish Nation member and has a particular interest in Indigenous centered care and fostering culturally safe practices within organizations. This has led Charla to pursue work within her own community and with organizations that align themselves with those values and standards. She has hopes to eventually work with rural Indigenous communities across Canada and globally, helping create sustainable and culturally sound systems of care.
At home in BC, Charla spends most of her free-time in Nature, hiking and finding new and remote lakes to swim in. Vancouver Island has become her favorite place to explore and adventure around on; she feels a connection to the land there through her Coast Salish ancestors. After spending a week cleaning up tonnes of debris and garbage in San Josef Bay with a non-profit organization, Living Oceans, Vancouver Island became the place Charla hopes to make home one day.
Charla is passionate about connecting with and helping others; she is proud to be working for Bridge Barn Consulting, which centers around genuinely connecting and growing with people.
